Meghan Thomas-Richards

Associate
Meg is a Associate in Hall Payne Lawyers’ Employment and Industrial Relations team, with extensive experience across industrial relations, regulatory matters, and workers’ compensation.

Meg graduated from the Australian National University in 2015 and was admitted to practice in the ACT in 2016. She has since built significant experience in employment and industrial law, including roles at the Fair Work Commission, where she worked in award modernisation and as a Relief Associate across a broad range of matters. She later worked as an Industrial Officer with the Police Association in Victoria, where she represented members in complex disputes, including workers’ compensation claims, enterprise bargaining, and organisational change matters.

Meg has experience leading and supporting significant industrial disputes, including matters involving flexible working arrangements, recognition of prior service, fitness for work, and consultation obligations. She has also been involved in enterprise bargaining processes, including drafting claims and negotiating enterprise agreements.

Prior to joining Hall Payne, Meg worked as a generalist solicitor in a community legal service in Tasmania, specialising in employment law and achieving positive outcomes in unfair dismissal and general protections matters.

Meg is admitted to practice in the Australian Capital Territory and is a committed practitioner in employment and industrial relations law.
