Dale Blackmore

Principal Solicitor
Dale Blackmore is a Principal Solicitor in Hall Payne’s employment and industrial relations law team in our Brisbane office.

Dale’s journey in the legal world is deeply rooted in his longstanding affiliation with, and dedication to, the union movement.

Having represented a range of unions and union officials in industrial litigation, Dale has earned recognition as a Rising Star in the field of Employment and Workplace Safety Law, as awarded by Doyle’s Guide.

At Hall Payne Lawyers, Dale focuses his expertise primarily on working with the firm’s organisational clients. Dale has extensive experience acting for clients in relation to matters specific to unions and not-for-profits, including:

  • governance advice;
  • regulatory compliance;
  • governing rules reviews;
  • drafting and preparing complex agreements; and

Dale’s work includes several significant wins and notable contributions to the legal field over the past few years. Among these achievements are:

  • successfully defending a union official accused of breaching his officers’ duties;
  • representing unions in a range of regulatory matters, including inquiries and investigations;
  • successfully appealing a decision of the Fair Work Commission ordering that industrial action be suspended; and
  • appealing a range of decisions of the Federal Court of Australia, the former Registered Organisation Commission and the Fair Work Commission.

In addition to Dale’s expertise with the firm’s organisational clients, Dale has had success representing individuals in a vast range of matters including industrial disputes, unfair dismissal, defamation, disciplinary proceedings and professional registration and conduct matters.
