Madeleine O’Brien

Associate
Madeleine O’Brien is an Associate in Hall Payne Lawyers’ Employment and Industrial Relations team, based in the firm’s Melbourne and Hobart offices.

Madeleine represents workers across a range of employment and industrial matters and is committed to achieving fair outcomes for her clients. She has experience working on disputes across a variety of sectors, including health, financial services, construction, and resources, which has given her a strong commercial awareness and insight into different industries and regulatory environments.

Prior to joining Hall Payne Lawyers, Madeleine worked in the employment and industrial practice of a national law firm, where she gained experience in individual employment disputes, industrial matters, and regulatory inquiries and investigations. She has also completed internships with the Young Workers Centre and the Association of Employees with Disability, further strengthening her understanding of the challenges faced by workers.

Madeleine understands that employment disputes can be complex and stressful. She provides clear, practical advice and works closely with clients to guide them through the legal process, with a focus on achieving outcomes that support their rights and long-term interests.

Madeleine is a member of the Industrial Relations Society of Victoria, Victorian Women Lawyers, and the Law Institute of Victoria.
